MINING LANDSCAPES USE IN A FRAMEWORK OF UKRAINE INDUSTRIAL REGIONS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT 1.Mining industry is quite developed of Ukraine and considered to be powerful. Ittakes leading position of iron and manganese ore and coal extraction andtherefore it has become the source of considerable areas distraction (generalarea of distracted lands шт. Ukraine is 162 thousands hectares) [1]. More than21 thousand hectares of mining distracted lands and more than 180 million m3of waste rocks are the results of iron ore mining in Kryvyi Rih Iron Ore Basin.Industry pays for the use of lands, which it is not really using any more, ofcourse doesn’t use any money for rehabilitation of mining destructed lands.City uses environmental funds for its needs. People get nothing. AlthoughKryvyi Rih industry achieves 90 % of iron ore volume extraction in Ukraine, anyactions of mining lands rehabilitation are not being but they should becompleted. 2.The negative consequences of open pit mining are well known. They are a changeof hydro-geochemical flows; destruction of ecosystems and soil cover; destructionof lithosphere structure; heavy metals ions dispersion at considerableterritories etc. However, taking in account achievements of sustainabledevelopment strategy [2], it is necessary to take a look at the problem fromanother point of view. Mining industry is a source of transformations and changesof relief, soils, water and geochemical flows, which could be used for creationof landscape necessary structure. 3.The technology of mining destructed lands revival, developed by the INMPE ofNAS of Ukraine became the basis for reserves creation at post-industriallandscapes. Even more our works proved their use as restoration elements ofeconetwork of region [3-4]. Later on, the author created the Ecological(Environmental) Classification of Industrial Landscapes [5-6]. It is based onprocesses of mineral deposits technological development and ecologicallyimportant aspects of vegetation development. It allows to predetermine developmentof landscape and vegetation cover formation at mining distracted lands and toactivate this development on one hand, and to form the necessary type ofecosystems on another hand. 4.Use of the classification, conformable methods of hydro-geochemical contoursand flows selection, innovative methods of activation of soil and vegetationrehabilitation allows defining the type of future use and management of miningdestructed landscapes. Certain possibilities of tourist, recreational, natureprotection, educational activities are approved to be perspective on suchrevival lands. Interesting directions of post-industrial landscapes developmentis hunting (creation of areas of hunting animals breeding and zoozones of rarehunting animals) and sport activities (trail-orientation, rock-climbing andhiking). 5.Thus, the scientific-based approach of secondary ecosystems development allowsto define the rational use of post-industrial landscapes of industrial regionsand therefore to approach their development to the parameters of sustainabledevelopment.
